I am so glad you found us, and I am excited to tell the world what we are all about.
Not long ago, a group of students sat in my living room. There were maybe 20 or 30 there. They were from all different countries, and different colleges and universities. Some were the children of missionaries, others, were International students, others had gone to International schools. A conference had brought us all together, and students at my university had brought the group together in my home. I was so impressed with this group of students, and so honored to meet them and spend time together. During the course of the conversations, it occurred to me that there needed to be a service that brought students together like this with more intention. Someone should be looking out for these guys; they needed more than they were getting from their schools. They would survive, but would they thrive?
I decided that I could not wait for someone else to do it, so I asked eight other people to join me, without funding, without salaries, just holding on to the passion, to the need. All eight jumped right in, and others have joined us. I am so pleased that now we can join colleges and universities in providing great services to Global Students. We can partner with amazing International schools in the transition of their students from high school to college. We will get to join parents in supporting students, and most exciting of all, we will get to walk along side some of the most amazing students in the world.
