Dear Parents,

I wanted you to know that we are honored you would consider allowing us to walk along side your son or daughter. In the nearly 10 years I spent serving global students for a university I always felt is was an amazing gift that parents gave us the trust to work with their children as they took flight.

While I know and understand that we are working with adults, I also know that they are someone's child. We will communicate by e-newsletter on a regular basis so that you can adapt to your new role while your child is far away from you.

I was blessed as a student that my mother was able to fly to the US with me when I first started college. I remember vividly the moment she left for the airport to fly back to Kenya. Now as a parent myself I better understand what that must have been like for her, and I think that helps me serve students and families even better.
