Online Entry/Re-entry program
This service coming in the late summer of 09 will allow students to prepare for the cultural,
academic and social adjustment of moving to the US for college. From the very practical
instructions on getting a drivers license, to the broader question of developing an
affective support network.
The Gathering
Events called "the Gathering" take place at various times and places across the US and are
intended to provide the opportunity for global students to connect with each other. It is often
hard for students to connect with other global students on different campuses, so regional and
national Gatherings provide a time and location to do just that. Gatherings are a great way to
organize a class reunion as well. We provide the location and meals, you just invite your friends
to come.
Student Leadership
The global student is a wonderful resource for college campuses, but often overlooked is the
special leadership training needed to be affective student leaders. Whether serving as an RA and
needing the supplemental training to prepare for the additional expectations the global student
will face as a global leader, or as leader of an international organization. Global students are
very often a very small minority in leadership on a campus. The Global Student Leadership Summit
is an opportunity for targeting leadership development and an expansion of the leadership peer
group.
Global Student Organizations
The names vary from MuKappa, to International Student Association, from Latino Leaders to the
Umoja the Kenyan Student Association, but whatever the name they often face many similar challenges.
Motivating membership, leadership transition (getting the next class to lead), promoting events,
getting t-shirts, effective community outreach, fund raising just to list a few. GSS intends to provide
resources and research needed for these student organizations to be successful.
We offer free website and promotion of any "open" event an organization wants to promote.
We offer an excellent fundraiser, and links to other fund raising options upon request.
The Leadership Summit is a great resource for student groups and will equip leaders for many of the challenges they face in their groups.
Let us know what you need and we will do our best to help.

The Global Student Network
GSS continues to expand this developing network which already includes over 600 persons. This
rapidly expanding network includes students and former students across the county, though our
facebook group and e-mail distribution students can participate in contest, share stories, see job
opportunities, find out about events and activities and much much more.
